1/13/2024 0 Comments Wii stock os uninstall homebrew![]() Can you eleborate on that? I just want to be 100$ clear on my next steps. So I will re-install the chip and try running the disc with the Gecko OS. I just want to complete this - b/c I am so close. So you see - its a bit of a mess and tons of time wasted. So that was a waste of $ and now the chip is shot. At that point I decided to get the new D2Pro solderless chip and install it - BUT the board that I had had the pre-installed (hack-proof) epoxy and made it impossible to click the chip in (even after trying to remove the epoxy). Besides, without the Homebrew Channel, nobody can do anything with the. Its going to be a pain in the ass to go and try to reset everything in the vWii, which could brick it. I downloaded the Update 1.9 ande the Config program to UPDATE the WiiKey but I couldn't get the Wii to accept the disc and I burned it several x/s at different speeds and disc. Just want to remind you that having a softmodded vWii could give it more value, but if you want to get rid of it, then just remove the Homebrew Channel. As i said - a few games DID run with no issues but then it stopped with what it seemed the newer games. Yes - most of the Errors were the ER 0000001 DRE errors. I am not in Firmware 3.4 at this point so -I will just delete the SD card and try reinstalling the modchip. If it was the 001 error and for some reason you cant upgrade the chip to be compatible with games that do the 001 check then you can bypass that by booting the games through gecko OS on the homebrew channel. I'd like to ask what exactly was the problem you were having with most games and the chip. well the 4.1 version is the best one on terms of homebrew since 4.2 and 4.3 only fixes exploits, the version after 4.1 doesnt matter but the IOS do, you can use 4.3 IOS on 4.1, you can use the homebrew Syscheck to see what ios and cIOS are installed and its current version, if you simply want to update your softmod simply reinstall the softmod. ![]() Generally the modchip is the simpler way to go. Make sure that the anytitledeleter is in its own folder in the apps folder in your SD card and use that to delete the cIOS and IOS16 (if you have it) Then try reinstalling them and see if it helps. The only things that are installed in the softmod are the homebrew channel, the cIOS (not the cIOS installer, just the cIOS patch), and IOS16 (only if your wii is on 3.4) They dont copy to the wii's system memory or become modified in the slightest when you run them. You can delete them and then copy them back to the SD, but that really wont do anything at all since they only run from the SD. They're saved on the SD card in the apps folder. Once installed, users can access the channel from the Wii System Menu just like any other Wii channel. That should've uninstalled DVDx and its ticket, correct? And, for verification that I uninstalled it back then, shouldn't the option for DVDx on the installer read "Install DVDx" instead of "Uninstall DVDx" (or something to that extent)?Īlso, I have the latest version of HBC (version 1.0.6 if I'm not mistaken) with system menu 4.2, so shouldn't Bannerbomb v2 be able to uninstall HBC v1.0.6 and delete the ticket left behind successfully?įinally, will formatting my Wii's memory for sure remove any and all traces of HBC if, somehow, traces of HBC are still left behind (aside from the Wii message board history) even after using the Bannerbomb v2 installer to uninstall it? The Homebrew Channel is a self-updating homebrew application loader by Team Twiizers which allows users to load homebrew applications without having to run an exploit every time. I only installed both HBC and DVDx (unless you count the apps inside of HBC, which they were just emulators and Gecko OS, if that means anything), but uninstalled DVDx pretty much right away (either the same day of or the day after installing it, at the latest) using the same installer version to install it. I installed HBC back after the bannerbomb exploit was created after system menu 4.0 was released and I updated to it. Also, I'm not sure whether the newer Hackmii Installer can delete the ticket from HBC 1.0.4 or older, but it definitely leaves it when updating to the latest HBC (although it does delete the old HBC itself). Also, keep in mind that the Hackmii Installer 0.5 and newer can't delete the old DVDx. ![]()
